“An Off-Season Invitation”
Bob Butcher
Okay, …so where has the 2018 K&N Pro Series season gone already? Where has 2018 already gone? My goodness, Christmas is only 59 days away! I don’t know about you, but I cannot believe how fast this year has flown bye. This all means that we will not be seeing each other much until next season in 2019 so Kathy and I begin thinking how we can best serve you over this “off-season” coming upon us. (Yeah, that “off-season” tag we place on these next couple of months is a laugh, isn’t it.)
I know that we all have the NASCAR Home Tracks Champions Awards Friday, Dec. 7 at the Charlotte Convention Center at the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Kathy and I hope to see you all there to celebrate your year! Whether or not you figure 2018 was your year or not, let me remind you that God will certainly use everything that happened to mature and groom you for advancement in your life. He doesn’t miss a thing!
Nothing changes in the Lord’s Kingdom during times like this in our lives that we are about too experience again. God is very clear about that in a number of places in scripture, so we should take note of this. 2 Peter 3:8 is clear about this: “But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.”
And, …
Hebrews 13:8 tells us: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
That sort of sounds like our racing lifestyle if you want to be successful in this sport, doesn’t it?
What may change is whether you will be back for another year next season or not, or what team you might be with, and things like that.
Another thing to change is where you continue your personal relationship with God during this time away. Maybe Kathy and I were where you considered your “home church” to be. That doesn’t have to change because Kathy and I plan (Lord willing) to be back for our 22nd year serving NASCAR.
I do not know what next year looks like chapel-wise, but I do know that we will continue the printed church services so you can take one home.
Meanwhile, Kathy and I have an invitation for you which will do an absolutely great job on building your life relationship with the Creator Himself.
We want to invite you to go to a really excellent teaching church each week until we meet on-track again. That church is where Kathy and I attend and are Elders with. And, what is nice is that you can “attend” in your own timing as you choose. The video recorded live each week is posted on Tuesday. You can go to our church website:
https://www.cothcommunity.com/video/
or at the bottom of our church page you can choose one of these three methods:

As you watch or listen you will notice we teach in an unusual, unique way with both our great pastors and close friends Bruce Stefanik and Jason Treadwell co-speaking together tag-team. And, normally you won’t see Kathy or me teaching. Sorry, but here at the track and Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Salem is where that happens most often. This church is our home and our refreshment & relaxation is time here with our Church on the Hill family when we are not traveling with you.
In closing, and leaving you with a thought to meditate on consider this:
“Success is NOT measured by numbers or even success, …NOR by what you see. Its measured by your FAITHFULNESS to what God has called you to DO. He created you with the passion, talent and gifts you can develop …IF you choose too. But remember …He LOVES YOU just as you are.” – Bob
